Q: What kind of research did you do when writing the novel?

A: Uff. Tons. Sometimes you have to read a hundred books just to write one good one. I read everything I could on the subject, beginning my education in the Library of Congress over fifteen years ago. Since then I have visited both Jordan and Israel, seen the Dead Sea Scrolls on exhibit, and studied everything I could regarding their controversial content. Then I woke up one day and realized, “Hey, I could write a book about this!” So I did.
